COVID -19 FOOD RELIEF PROGRAM


IRAN

Distribution of personal protective equipment to health care facilities, ventilators and 400 food baskets to children and families in Golestan, Sistan Baluchistan and Azerbaijan areas which were previously impacted with Flood disaster and now by the spread of the virus.

2020 FLOODS


SISTAN VA BALUCHESTAN, IRAN

With the assistance of our local distribution volunteers, our team secured and delivered food and saniation supply packages to over 300 families in Sistan van Baluchestan. 

2019 FLOODS

 

FARS, KHUZESTAN AND LORESTAN, IRAN

Following the widespread flooding across Iran in 2019, Children of Persia team and its NGO partners provided food, water, sanitation supplies and immediate relief assistance to stranded and displaced families in Fars, Khuzestan, Golestan and Lorestan Provinces followed by household appliances to a number of families in Golestan Province.  Our projects in Golestan Province continued with building an elementary school to replace several area schools that were damaged beyond repair.  The completed school is now educating around 5340 students.

2017 EARTHHQUAKE


KERMANSHAH, IRAN

2017 Earthquake in Kermanshah caused widespread damage to many buildings and infrastructure.  Following the distribution of food and basic needs in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake, we collaborated with a London based NGO to fund the construction of an elementary school in the village of Hasan Soleyman, Kermanshah to serve about 40-50 children in grades 1-6, and the construction of 12 kilometers of main water line from Noshirvan Reservoir to Hassan Soleyman Village with 13 other 13 villages along the way to provide reliable, clean and constant water service.

2012 EARTHHQUAKE


EAST AZARBAIJAN, IRAN

The massive earthquake in Ahar and Varzghan in East Azarbaijan left much destruction in towns and villages in the area.  Children of Persia with generous donations it received and with the dedication of its volunteer team in Iran, provided immediate relief with food, water, blankets and heating equipment to help families struggling with severe winter weather conditions and temporary accommodations.  Our help continued with the construction of a school in the Village of Baja Baj, for many children who lost their school to the earthquake, and forced to learn in temporary, and old trailers.   We continue to support the school and the students with food, educational supplies, and programs and providing for student’s needs

2003 EARTHHQUAKE


KERMAN, IRAN

The devastating earthquake left Bam destroyed with many lives lost.  Those who survived this massive disaster, were left without food, shelter, community, and basic infrastructure.  Our first disaster relief effort started with Bam where we provided food and water and much needed medicine.  Our team in the US undertook a clothing and blanket drive focusing on children’s needs and in collaboration with a few other US based NGO’s, we shipped 50 tons of clothing to the region, as distributed by local volunteers.  Funds were also contributed towards Bam Library and the Bam Technology Center through the coalition of Iranian charities in the US.

SUPPORT IN INTERNATIONAL CRISIS

With many global disasters such as earthquake, flooding, and hurricanes, our team of volunteers have stepped up in raising and contributing fuds as well as volunteering their services as needed.  A few include included funding for relief assistance for earthquake in Haiti, Tsunami in Sri Lanka, Katrina Hurricane in US and extensive volunteer work in US at the time of need.
