REFUGEE SUPPORT

 

IRAN

In 2021 we collaborated with United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), operating in Iran, to provide food to recently arrived refugees who were house in refugee camp in Semnan, Iran.  The food distribution, directly managed by our volounteers in Iran, provided food for a month to about 400 families.

FARS COMMUNITY

 

IRAN

Provided personal assistive devices, school supplies in Fars, Boushehr, Kohgiloyeh, Boyerahmad, and Kermanshah provinces, as well as new shoes to two hundred children in Mamasani and Rostam counties. 

COMMUNITY PROJECTS

 

TEHRAN, IRAN

Our program in the Avayeh Mandegar supported the vocational and literacy programs to mothers and children in the community of Molavi Ave./Darvazeh Ghar.  With our support and funding for sewing machines, supplies, and materials, parents were provided income generation skills such as knitting, sewing, quilting, leather crafts and others to help improve the family’s economic circumstances.  At the center’s request we also funded educational programs for children and their family, including life skills workshops, leadership classes, teamwork, food and nutrition, self-reliance, communications, parenting, relationships, anger management and others.

GOLTAPEH EDUCATIONAL CENTER

 

TEHRAN, IRAN

Varamin- As our first project over twenty years ago, we provided month long food for an all-girls elementary school, followed by providing a full school kitchen for independent food preparation.  This project planted the seed for the lifelong caring and passion for volunteers through Children of Persia.

YARA HOTLINE

TEHRAN, IRAN

A crisis hotline was set up by our partner NGO for access by children across Iran to seek support when in abusive environments.  Project was implemented by the Society for Protecting the Right of the Child (SPRC).

ESFADAN CHILDCARE CENTERS

 

SOUTH KHORASAN, IRAN

Funding was provided for the expansion of Centers for Pre-school and Parental education programs with SPRC. The program included upgrading existing centers and programs, with the goal of providing better educational opportunities at earlier age as well as programs to youth and families.
